Vom Anfang

Law of the Dawn wurde 1989 von den damals 15 und 17 jährigen Keyboardern Markus C. und Andrew Thomas E. in Bonn gegründet. Aus zahlreichen Aufnahmesessions mit einem 4- Spur Multitracker enstanden insgesamt 7 Tapes. Die Musik bewegte sich irgendwo im Darkwave und harscherem Electro-Bereich. Aus den verschiedenen Musikvorlieben der beiden entwickelte sich allmählich der eigentliche LOTD -Sound.
Markus C. zeichnete sich mehr für die härtere elektronische Seite aus, Andrew E. hingegen
war für ruhigere melancholische Klänge verantwortlich.

Das Debut Album

Im Jahr 1995 fand das “Different Faces”, Demotape (Zusammenschnitt von Material aus ´90 –94) den Weg zum
damaligen „Discordia“ Label, daraus entstand im selben Jahr das Debut –CD Album “Stories about shadows and
lights”. Dieses wurde weitestgehend im Alleingang von Andrew E. produziert, von Markus C., aufgrund seines Ausstieges nun Gastmusiker, und der Pianistin Lisa G. wurde jeweils ein Track beigesteuert.

Die zweite Veröffentlichung

Das Album “Dämmerung der kalten Schatten”,wurde 1997 dann komplett von Andrew E. alleine getextet, komponiert und produziert.

Crying with your tears

Nach langjähriger Stille erschien 2005 ein neues Lebenzeichen in Form des Minialbums “Crying with your tears”.
Diese CD wurde wieder im kompletten Alleingang von Andrew E. produziert.

Rare Tracks & Remix Collection

2013 erschien das digitale Album “Rare Tracks & Remix Collection #1”.

Das Wesen

Eines der wohl größten Projekte von Law of the Dawn ist “Das Wesen”. (Vormals “Das weiße Wesen”),
dessen Webseite 2019 online ging. Hier sind Photographien, Animationen und Geschichten eines Wesens, zwischen Schatten und Licht zu sehen. Videos sowohl auch Audios werden folgen…

The 8th dusk

ist der Titel einer vormals als Fulltime Album geplanten Veröffentlichung. Derzeit wird unter diesem Namen
an einer Digital-Single Kollektion gearbeitet.

The beginning

Law of the Dawn was founded in Bonn in 1989 by keyboarders Marcus C. and Andrew Thomas E., 15 respectively 17 years old at that time. In the course of several sessions, seven tapes were recorded using a simple four-track multitracker. Stilistically, the music can be described as being somewhere between Darkwave and harsh Electro.Slowly, the actual Law of the Dawn sound emerged from the different music tastes of the two band members.
Marcus C. was contributing to the rough electronic side, while Andrew E. was responsible for the calm, melancholic sounds.

The debut album

In 1995, the demo tape “Different Faces”, a mix of material from the years 1990 to 1994, found its way to the “Discordia” label.This demo became the debut CD “Stories about shadows and lights” that was released the same year. Primarily produced by Andrew E. – Markus C., now guest musician due to his departure from the band, and Lisa G., a pianist,each contributed one track to the album.

The second release

The second album “Dämmerung der kalten Schatten” released in 1997, and was composed and produced by Andrew E. single-handedly.

Crying with your tears

In 2005, after some years of silence, a new mini-album called “Crying with your tears” was released. This work was once again produced single-handedly by Andrew E.

Rare Tracks & Remix Collection

The digital album “Rare Tracks & Remix Collection #1” was released in 2013.

Probably one of the biggest projects of Law of the Dawn is “Das Wesen”. (formerly “Das weiße Wesen”)
whose website launched in 2019. Here are photographs, animations and stories of a being between shadow and light. Videos as well as audios will follow…
